Imani K. Brown, Kawaii Creative and Master Tattoo Artist has solicited the creative genius of Harley Morgan, CEO of ROE: The Agency and Executive Producer of Indie Fashion Week to collaborate on a collection inspired by DC’s greatest eras of Streetwear! Harley Morgan serves as CREATIVE DIRECTOR for “When Things Change” – the first illustrated theme of Brown’s “SHOPPE GAL” A/W Capsule Collection Release! This collection, and those that will follow, serve as a fusion of Brown’s Kawaii Style influence and her home grown DC Street Style Flare!

Brown and Morgan have had a great creative relationship for about 4 years! Morgan was set on bringing the Kawaii style to the ever changing fashion scene of Washington, DC. Incrementally, they did just that! With an array of special guest appearances, pop up fashion flash mobs, fireside chats and more, their partnership has definitely increased the awareness and visibility of Kawaii here in the DMV. In case you were wondering what KAWAII is and means, here you go…KAWAII is the culture of cuteness in Japan. It can refer to items, humans and non-humans that are charming, vulnerable, shy and childlike. Examples include cute handwriting, certain genres of manga, anime, and characters including Hello Kitty and Pikachu. The cuteness culture, or kawaii aesthetic, has become a prominent aspect of Japanese popular culture, entertainment, clothing, food, toys, personal appearance, and mannerisms.
